Trinity Consultants Australia provides professional consulting services in the fields of acoustics, air quality and water. Our activities include monitoring, modelling, impact assessment, and emission management plans.

The position is located at our South Brisbane office within walking distance to West End, Southbank and the Brisbane CBD. Trinity Consultants Australia is part of the global professional services provider Trinity Consultants delivering engineering and scientific advice to the building, mining, industrial, manufacturing, ports and transport sectors.

The successful candidate will provide a high-quality service for our clients and for our internal team, undertaking monitoring, modelling and other consulting and research projects in the fields of air quality assessment and greenhouse gas assessment. This position may require some weekend work and extended travel, though every effort is taken to minimise this. 

Candidates

Our successful candidate will have:

  • Preferably unrestricted work rights in Australia
  • A degree in science or engineering relevant to air quality, preferably Chemical, Environmental Engineering, and/or related Atmospheric/Environmental Science from at least a three-year University degree.
  • Preference for at least 4 years’ experience in air quality including 2 years of modelling with at least 2 of WRF, TAPM, Calpuff, Aermod and/or Gral.
  • Proven ability to work independently on multiple overlapping and complex tasks, and also as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic
  • Proficient in use of computer program applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, emails, and knowledge of Microsoft Office software package
  • Excellent communication skills and excellent English report writing skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations to ensure quality standards on project deliverables
  • Willingness to live in Brisbane
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in client site work environments is often moderate.
  • A light vehicle driver’s licence

The role

  • Undertake projects and develop management plans for the assessment and control of air pollution sources and their impact on the environment.
  • Contribute to environmental impact assessments and development applications for a wide range of development projects.
  • Propose solutions to technical problems and methods to mitigate environmental impact.
  • Analysis atmospheric conditions and develop meteorological data for modelling.
  • Provide data on background air quality and project impacts to inform planning of management strategies.
  • Contribute and undertake tasks for other project managers, supervisor and management team.
  • Undertake ambient air monitoring.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration and repair and arrange for sample analysis.
  • Perform entry of data and results into spreadsheets and prepare reports.
  • Assist with other teams in Trinity where required (e.g. noise monitoring).
  • Comply with company policies and procedures including quality assurance and safety procedures, and prepare timesheets and expenses claims on a daily basis.
  • Travel to sites as required.
  • Provide assistance and undertake tasks as requested by direct supervisor and senior managers.
  • Foster good relationships with Clients and meet or exceed their expectations as appropriate.
  • Prepare and submit proposals within the time frame requested by the client and follow-up submissions in a timely manner.
  • Undertake appropriate workload, behave in a professional manner and embrace and apply the Trinity Consultants Australia values.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of current and emerging air assessment issues.
  • Continue ongoing professional education.
