The position
Trinity Consultants is inviting third or fourth year undergraduate students to apply for our work placement as interns with our team of environmental engineers and scientists in the fields of environmental consulting – primarily air quality and/or noise.
This is a casual position with a minimum of 15 hours per week (flexible hours allowed) on an average over a minimum of 3 months commencing in September 2025. There will be opportunity for the employment to be extended longer. The position will be paid at the most relevant award wage on an hourly basis and may involve some weekend work and extended travel, though every effort is taken to minimise this.

Trinity Consultants provides professional environmental consulting services in the fields of acoustics, air quality and water. Our activities include monitoring, modelling, impact assessment, and emission management plans.
The position is located at our South Brisbane office within walking distance to West End, Southbank and the Brisbane CBD.

Minimum requirements
Our successful candidate will have:
- Australian permanent residency or citizenship
- Residing in Brisbane
- A light vehicle driver’s licence
- Completed 2 years toward a University degree in science or engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or Physics, Chemistry or Environmental Science
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
The role
- Use of computer program applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, emails, and knowledge of Microsoft Office software package.
- Undertake computer modelling for the assessment and control of air pollution / noise sources and their impact on the environment.
- Undertake ambient air /noise monitoring.
- Analysis atmospheric conditions and develop meteorological data for modelling.
- Analyse data on background air quality / noise and project impacts to inform planning of management strategies.
- Contribute to environmental impact assessments and development applications for a wide range of
development projects. - Contribute and undertake tasks for other project managers, supervisor and management team.
- Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or clients.
- Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration and repair and arrange for sample analysis.
- Perform entry of data and results into spreadsheets and prepare reports.
- Comply with company policies and procedures including quality assurance and safety procedures, and prepare timesheets and expenses claims on a daily basis.
- Travel to sites as required.
