How we helped
Trinity conducted directional dust monitoring along with dust deposition sampling at a gardening materials processing facility.
The facility conducts dust deposition monitoring to assess potential for dust impacts onto neighbours. Therefore, understanding the origin of the dust is essential, especially since the facility is located near other industrial dust-generating facilities.
Trinity installed directional dust gauges at the same locations as standard deposited dust gauges and changed samples approximately every 10 days. The operational principle of the sampler is that dust attaches to a sticky pad around the gauge, with a directional indicator facing north. This enables us to correlate the dust collected on the pad with the cardinal direction from which it originated.
The directional dust results, combined with specific meteorological data from the site, allow for a better understanding of the direction in which dust contributions occur and how much dust disperses to and from the site.
Our trained staff conducted directional dust sample analyses utilising state-of-the-art software, data analysis and interpretation of dust deposition and directional results.
